Ever wonder about Jack and the Beanstalk? I have. I always wondered why Jack went back up the beanstalk a third time. After all, he had the the hen that laid the golden egg. He had all the money he and his mother could need or want. And yet, he went back up the beanstalk one more time. The last time he almost got caught because he grabbed the musical harp who sang out and woke the giant who gave chase, and if I remember rightly, almost caught Jack. It was only by scurrying down the beanstalk and chopping it down that Jack was able to save his own neck.
What was it that Jack wanted that motivated him to climb the beanstalk one more time. Was it the desire for adventure and an adrenalin rush? Was it just curiosity? Was it stupidity? Was it greed?
My vote goes to the last guess. It was greed – plain and simple, though I doubt that you would ever get Jack to admit it.
We have some millionaires and billionaires like Jack. They want it all. And like Jack, they are willing to steal and cheat and they will refuse to pay their fair share of taxes.
